Simplified estimate based on 2025 IRPEF brackets. Does not account for CCNL-specific rules, TFR, tredicesima/quattordicesima details, family deductions, or other personal circumstances. Regional tax rates are approximate averages (many regions use progressive brackets). This calculator has no legal authority — consult a commercialista for your actual numbers.

How this works

Your employer pays you a RAL (Retribuzione Annua Lorda) — gross annual salary. What lands in your bank account is smaller, because several things get subtracted along the way:

  • INPS — your share of social security contributions (9.19% of RAL).
  • IRPEF — income tax. Italy uses a progressive bracket system: 23% up to €28k, 35% up to €50k, 43% above.
  • Detrazioni — employee tax deductions that reduce your IRPEF. They phase out as income rises.
  • Trattamento integrativo — a €100/month bonus for incomes up to €28k.
  • Addizionali — regional and municipal surtaxes that vary by where you live.

What this calculator does NOT include

  • TFR (severance pay accrual) — technically part of your compensation but not in your monthly paycheck.
  • CCNL-specific rules — each national labor contract has different details for tredicesima, quattordicesima, overtime, benefits.
  • Family deductions, disability deductions, or other personal tax breaks.
  • NASpI contributions, CIG, or other special funds.

Use this for a ballpark. For your actual numbers, talk to your HR department or a commercialista.
